Moving to Main Street

January 15, 2017

It all started back around October when our good friend Emily from Emily's Jims mentioned she had been thinking about retiring at the end of the year. She mentioned her space would be up for grabs and wanted to know if it would be something we'd be interested in. At first, we were a bit intimidated by the size and the fact that we would also take over the vendor gallery, but if you know us, you know we are pretty ambitious when it comes to taking on a challenge. She did a lot of thinking over the next few months and decided it was the right move for her. We got to meet our new landlord sometime in November and drafted up a lease fairly quickly after. The next few weeks felt like an eternity as we waited for the day we could get in there and start making the space our own.

This time around we only had 6 days to flip the store front. However, the space was more than three times as large as our shop on Parker. We only had a few vendors stick around with us for the transition, so we had a few new vendors to move in and get situated. (Keep an eye out for a post in the future where we highlight our new vendors and show you inside their booths.)

We worked everyday and night until about midnight (even later some nights) until the space was completely perfect for our Grand Reopening. We had our friend Nicole there with us every step of the way. We don't know how we could have done it without her.  We even recruited our friend Apryl one night to help us stain wood shelving and bake goodies for the opening.

Here we are the night we got the keys. We had no idea how exhausted we'd be at the end of it all, but we wouldn't have changed a single thing.

The new shop on Main Street was such a beautiful space that we didn't have have too much cosmetic work to finish - just setting up wall displays and transporting an entire store down a few blocks.

One of our first collaborations was with a talented artist on Instagram that you're probably familiar with by now if you follow us. House of Ezra has been supplying us with our Aggie signs since we opened our first shop back in the Summer. We've added some new designs to our wall, so come by and check them out for yourself!

For the first time ever, we have the Market Desk in-store! Come and see if it is the perfect fit for your office space.

We're always working on something behind the scenes to bring y'all the newest furniture and home decor pieces. Keep an eye out for some new originals and a few new collaborations with some of our favorite local artisans.

Here are a few pieces from our vendor gallery. Check back for individual blog posts for as we highlight our talented vendors.
